Attractive sites in central Denmark
22-02-2006: Latest news from Fredericia, DanmarkC.
The decision by Carlsberg to relocate brewery activities from Copenhagen to the town of Fredericia in the Triangle Region of Denmark, entailing an investment of DKK 800 million in the new facility over the next two years, serves to reconfirm once again the status of Fredericia as one of Denmark's foremost growth centres.
In 2005, the Municipality of Fredericia in co-operation with Sadolin & Albæk sold not less than 500,000 sqm of land for commercial uses in the new commercial centre dubbed DanmarkC, making it the top selling Danish municipality in terms of commercial land sales.
As the projects are generally large, construction has as yet only started on a somewhat minor scale. We expect the approaching spring to see building cranes shoot up in step with the adoption of local plans, project completions and building permissions fallling into place.
Commercial land sales expectations are also high for 2006, and we foresee a considerable level of activities within the transport and logistics industries.
DanmarkC is characterised by its unique motorway location, not merely benefitting from 'visibility' but also ideal access to the overall motorway system, as well as transport by rail and sea.
The Municipality of Fredercia has invested in the required infrastructure, roads, utilities, etc., in DanmarkC, making sure that the 'red carpet' is rolled out for new company starts in DanmarkC.
Arla Foods, Tuborg, Post Danmark, PricewaterhouseCoopers have already established facilities in DanmarkC, where 5.5 million sqm of land are still available for sale.
