Siemens moving into Dokken office building in Vejle
15-06-2011: Sadolin & Albæk closes major lease transaction in central Vejle
As part of its expansion plans, Siemens Energy Sector has taken a lease on some 10,300 sqm office space in Dokken, a fully renovated office complex owned by SEB and located in central Vejle in the so-called Triangle Region of Denmark. The Vejle office premises are to house the new knowledge centre of the successful offshore business. In future, the global administrative functions will be based in Vejle too. About 650 Siemens staff will therefore work from Vejle as from start-2012.
Formerly, the Dokken ("the Docks") buildings were known as Hafniahus, Codanhus and Sønderbrohus. But several hundred years ago, the area was in fact part of the port of Vejle. This is one of the reasons why the office complex has been named Dokken. The property is situated at the pedestrian grid, just opposite the central station and the bus terminal in central Vejle.
Siemens furthermore intends to invest in two new R&D centres in Brande and Aalborg, open an office in Ikast to serve as base for the Scandinavian sales and project management team as well as expand its Brande head office.
Siemens Energy Sector is the world's leading supplier of comprehensive products, services and solutions for the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity as well as the extraction, conversion and transportation of oil and gas. As at September 2010, Siemens Energy Sector employed some 88,000 staff. Read more at www.siemens.dk
