NewsLetter October 2008
30-10-2008: Latest trends and market indicators, Danish commercial property market.
In recent months, the Danish market for commercial and investment property has been characterised by a number of spectacular and much publicised bankruptcies among property investors.
However, it is worth bearing in mind that such economic collapses have so far hit a circle of very expansive property investors only, who with relatively weak equity capital have accumulated large property portfolios within very few years.
There may be cause for graver concern as to the consequences for the property market resulting from the current financial crisis, which has impeded the financing also of sound property investments with a reasonable equity capital basis.
But then it is evident in times like these that financially strong and resolute investors are able to make property investments, which will turn out to be most lucrative longer term.
In our NewsLetter October 2008 we also describe the latest trends in the commercial property market, including the market for commercial lease premises.
This NewsLetter includes a survey of property market indicators for rents, yields and vacancy rates in office, retail and industrial/logistics property in Greater Copenhagen, Aarhus and the so-called Triangle Region (Fredericia, Vejle and Kolding). This survey may also be downloaded separately.
